Mobile broadband signal boosters could help 3G reception

Friday 19 June 2009   |  4 Comments  |

Weak 3G signal can be a problem with using mobile broadband - as any user will know, signal is better in some areas, on some networks, than others, and trying to get anything done on a poor connection can be frustrating at best

However, mobile phone handset and accessory company Mobile Fun has launched a range of signal boosters which it claims will help users overcome the problem of poor reception. The company is offering two different ways of enhancing your mobile broadband reception - a clip antenna which clips onto your laptop screen or sits on your desk; or a more powerful 'high gain directional antenna' - which needs to point towards the transmitter to improve the signal, and which Mobile Fun claims will make a 'significant difference' to the reception.

Feedback on the Mobile Fun website indicates that there's a receptive audience out there who are desperate to boost their 3G signals, but so far there is no indication of how effective users have found the devices.

The Mobile Fun device is pictured below.

Hi, Thanks for the post on the antennas.

We've had reviews from several customers on how they have found them, and the response is positive. Most people are seeing an increase of around 2 bars.

I've put a link to our customer reviews pages below for our most popular antenna:

If you want to try one, please contact me and I'll arrange for one to be sent through to you for you to review.
